Helienne Lindvall is the President of the European Composer & Songwriter Alliance (ECSA), an award-winning songwriter, musician, and columnist. She has held prominent industry roles, including Chair of the Ivor Novello Awards, Board Director of the Ivors Academy, and Trustee of the Ivors Academy Trust. Helienne is also known for her music industry columns Behind the Music and Plugged In in The Guardian. Her career includes leadership positions such as Head of Business & Songwriter Relations at Auddly/Sessions, supported by Max Martin and ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus, and Director of Business Development and Artist Relations at LANDR UK.
A native of Sweden, Helienne began her career as a session singer, recording artist, and performer in Stockholm and New York City before settling in London. She signed publishing deals with BMG Scandinavia and Universal Music Publishing Scandinavia and has since collaborated with artists like Roger Sanchez, Big Daddy Wilson, and the Dark Tenor. Her work with award-winning songwriters such as Jörgen Elofsson (Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears), Patrik Berger (Icona Pop, Robyn), and Steve McEwan (Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood) highlights her international reach. In 2016, her song A Better Man reached the UK Eurovision finals, co-written with Andrew Fromm (Backstreet Boys, Mark Anthony) and Peter Kvint (A-ha, Andreas Johnson). Recent releases include collaborations with Glass Keys, Dani Senior, Menrva, and Ava Vox (Queen of the Universe).
Helienne is also a respected writer and thought leader, contributing to the Swedish book Myten om Internet (The Myth of the Internet) and publications such as Digital Music News, Netopia, The Musician, The Australian, and STIM-Magasinet. She regularly appears on platforms like Sky News, BBC, and Swedish National Radio, addressing key music industry topics like songwriters’ rights, copyright, and metadata challenges.
